Italian head coach Roberto Ricchini has rewarded all twelve players who helped Italy seal their place in France this summer, by handing them a spot in his 18-strong preliminary roster.

Having missed out on the party two years ago in Poland with a failed qualification bid, Italy made amends last year with a new-look team who lost their opening game but went unbeaten for the remainder of the campaign.

The list is headlined by Famila Schio playmaker Giorgia Sottana, who recently landed back-to-back Italian Championships and will now be expected to lead the charge for her country by pulling the strings in the backcourt.

She will be supported by a couple of her club colleagues in veteran wing player Raffaella Masciadri and shooter Chiara Consolini who is back to full form and fitness after some serious injury concerns.

The roster also includes four players who step out for Coach Ricchini at club level with Goldbet Taranto.

The squad will gather this forthcoming weekend for a preparation camp ahead of playing the EuroBasket Women hosts across a three game series on French soil starting 18 May.

They will then return home and entertain Bulgaria in back to back games (24 & 25 May) before heading to Belgrade to face Canada, Montenegro and the hosts between 30 May and 2 June.

Fine tuning will then take place in a final pre-EuroBasket Women mini-tournament when they go to Mogilev to play Belarus, along with fellow visitors Ukraine and Serbia.

Italy will face Russia, Spain and Sweden in Group B when they tread the hardwood in Vannes next month.

The full roster is as follows: Benedetta Bagnara (Gesam Gas Lucca), Valeria Battisodo (Lavezzini Parma), Sabrina Cinili (Umbertide), Chiara Consolini (Famila Schio), Martina Crippa (Goldbet Taranto), Francesca Dotto (Gesam Gas Lucca), Martina Fassina (Ceprini Costruzioni Orvieto), Alessandra Formica (Umana Venezia), Giulia Gatti (Goldbet Taranto), Gaia Gorini (Umbertide), Maria Laterza (La Spezia), Raffaella Masciadri (Famila Schio), Kathrin Ress (Gesam Gas Lucca), Lavinia Santucci (CUS Cagliari), Giorgia Sottana (Famila Schio), Laura Spreafico (Gesam Gas Lucca), Nnena Wabara (Goldbet Taranto), Ilaria Zanoni (Goldbet Taranto)
