| 25 January 2012 EUROLEAGUE WOMEN UNIQA-Euroleasing Sopron won't be advancing in the EuroLeague Women from Group B but the Hungarians signed off with a big win over Beretta Famila Schio on Wednesday evening. Australian Hanna Zavecz led the way with 17 points and seven rebounds as Sopron defeated the Italians, 69-54. Hungary international point guard Zsófia Fegyverneky weighed in with 15 points and seven assists for Sopron. Norbert Székely's team took a firm grip on the game in the second quarter. On top 20-18 after Schio's Chiara Pastore hit a jumper, Diana Fürész connected from long range for Sopron. Five straight points that followed by Olexandra Kurasova gave the hosts a 28-18 advantage. They took a 32-20 lead to the break and remained comfortably ahead the remainder of the contest. Schio had already wrapped up a place in the post-season before Wednesday's game. Cheryl Ford led the Italians with 17 points and 14 rebounds. |
