3ON3 TOUR

As part of the celebrations for FIBA Europe's 10th anniversary, FIBA Europe 3on3 returns to its first ever venue, Ljubljana, Slovenia on Saturday and Sunday.

When the first FIBA Europe 3on3 was held in August 2011, more than 12,000 spectators witnessed the launch of an ambitious project that grew into a pan-European tour with more than 10 stops in less than nine months.

The 2012 tour has already seen five stops on Gran Canaria as well as one in Leon and has now arrived in the EuroBasket 2013 final venue, Ljubljana.

Including the upcoming Ljubljana event, the FIBA Europe 3on3 tour will see 10 tournaments between Sheffield, United Kingdom and Moscow Russia until the beginning of September.

Again, more than 60 teams are expected in PreŇ°ernov Square in the centre of the Slovenian capital for two days of 3on3 basketball, organised by the Slovenian Basketball Federation with the help of FIBA Europe.

On Saturday, the senior men category teams will play their tournament, with a 3-point shootout taking place as well as the slam-dunk contest.

Also on Saturday, a VIP tournament with teams composed of sponsors, well-known personalities and organisers will take place.

A special place in the schedule is reserved for the competitions for people with acquired head injury, which is organised in cooperation with NAPREJ and ZARJA, two centres for Persons with Acquired Brain Injury.

NAPREJ is a non-profit organisation located in Maribor that provides comprehensive, professional, long-term psychosocial rehabilitation to people with acquired brain injury and aims at facilitating active participation of the users in everyday social situations, and at raising the quality of life of the users and their relatives

Ljubljana based ZARJA provides a wide range of services and programmes of long-term rehabilitation for persons with acquired brain injury (ABI). Its integrated professional approach is based on respect, cooperation and individuality of each person as well as on active inclusion in society with the aim to improve the quality of life.

Both organisations co-organise the project with the Slovenian Basketball Federation and FIBA Europe.

On Sunday, the U16 and U18 boys' competition will be held as well as the women's tournament and a wheelchair competition.
