|Spain, who had not faced any injury problems since the beginning of their EuroBasket preparations, saw first Ricky Rubio and then Rudy Fernandez leaving the court with an injury in their back-to-back warm-up games against Slovenia |
Spain brushed aside Slovenia for the second night in a row on Sunday, cruising to a 79-57 victory in Granada.
Pau Gasol had 19 points for Spain, who played without Ricky Rubio, with the point guard having sprained his ankle in the first meeting with Slovenia on Saturday in Malaga.
Rubio will be evaluated in the coming days.
Spain also lost another player to injury on Sunday when Rudy Fernandez hurt his right arm and didn't play at all in the second half.
One bright spot for the hosts was the play of Serge Ibaka, who came off the bench and finished with 12 points and nine rebounds.
Erazem Lorbek, who led Slovenia with 12 points, said: "Today we saw that Spain have a much longer bench.
"Pau Gasol played a very good game and is an important link in the national team of Spain, which is currently a better team than ours.
"I think in our two games with them that we learned a lot.
"In the third quarter (on Sunday), we demonstrated that we are quite well prepared and play well against top European teams."
Slovenia's Goran Jagodnik added: "Spain is really a top team and you have to play against such a team in the same rhythm all 40 minutes."
