EUROBASKET QUALIFIERS

9. Semih Erden (Turkey)
Turkey's Semih Erden could do no wrong on Sunday night, as he scored 20 points on an almost perfect 90 percent shooting from the floor

It's been a challenging EuroBasket Qualification Round campaign so far for Turkey, but they catapulted themselves back into contention in Group F after routing Belarus 91-62 thanks to a breathtaking performance by Semih Erden.

The forward/center harvested a near double-double of 20 points, nine rebounds and barely missed a shot all night after accumulating his tally with a wonderful nine of ten attempts from the floor.

Well-supported by a similarly efficient shooting performance from fellow forward Ilkan Karaman who grabbed 17 points, Turkey dominated the game from start to finish.

Belarus barely had time to breathe and they were already facing a double-digit deficit at 16-6 but it was when the visitors racked up a devastating 15-2 run during the second quarter that the hopes of the home team were truly extinguished.

Ahead 49-29 as they hit the locker rooms, the third and fourth quarters were little more than a procession for Turkey who still have three more games to play and much to be hopeful about.

Aliaksandr Kudrautsau and Artsiom Parakhouski both claimed 18 points for Belarus.
