Anderson Eyes Up Famila Schio Return

Jolene Anderson has previous EuroLeague Women experience with Villeneuve, and is now looking forward to her first full season with Schio

Taken down by a knee injury earlier this year, Jolene Anderson is ready to get back to full fitness during coming months so she can pull on a Beretta Famila Schio vest once again.

Her debut season with the Italian champions proved to be a frustrating one and now she is eager to make up for lost time, having only played sporadically in EuroLeague Women prior to her participation being prematurely ended.

While the process of rehab is painfully monotonous, the prolific guard has declared her intent to be back for when the first ball of the new campaign is thrown up.

"Every day is the same and very repetitive, but it's all about working hard to get back into game-shape and be ready when I come back," said Anderson.

"Slowly I am beginning to run for longer and I am cutting and dribbling again - kind of like a little kid who is only just starting to learn how to play basketball.

"I am hoping to be ready in October for the start of the season, which is eight months after having had my surgery.

"That's my goal right now," added the 27-year-old.

Anderson was snapped up by Schio last summer, after amassing an eye-catching 23 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.2 assist per game during the 2013-14 EuroCup Women season with Antakya.

Schio have recently signed Italian rising star Cecilia Zandalasini and playmaker Giulia Gatti, with Croatian forward Iva Sliskovic another new arrival set to debut next season.
