International human relations (HR) specialists Adecco have signed on with EuroBasket 2013 as an event supplier for this summer's impending tournament.

As an event supplier, Adecco will undertake a number of roles, including the organising and allocating of volunteers.

Volunteers will play a significant role in EuroBasket 2013, with over 1,000 required to oversee the smooth running of the event.

More than 1,500 applications were received from 37 countries from people wishing to volunteer in Slovenia this summer, from as far abroad as Brazil, Colombia and India.

Adecco, a Swiss-based company, has over 6,000 offices situated around the world, providing more than 700,000 people, making it one of the world's leading HR specialists.

Adecco has already worked successfully with the Slovenian Basketball Federation in the past, which was reiterated at the press conference by Secretary General of the Slovenian Basketball Federation, Iztok Rems: "Adecco H. R. is one of the most loyal partners of the Slovenian Basketball Federation, who takes care of the staff management at our events."

"Adecco supports the important, unique events with a wider impact - and that is what EuroBasket 2013 is for sure," Miro Smrekar, Adecco HR director informed those gathered at the press conference, adding, "the positive impact of the championship will be even wider. Many people from across Europe will visit Slovenia. Many of them are businessmen and we will be able to show them where the opportunities for co-operation with our companies are. Business meetings at EuroBasket are therefore an excellent opportunity to make new connections."
