Starting today, FIBA Europe gives basketball fans the opportunity to vote for the European Player of the Week on Facebook.

FIBA Europe preselects a shortlist of candidates but fans can add players whose performances during the week they like best to the list.

Voting covers all performances by European players in the major European domestic leagues, European competitions and in the NBA. All games from Monday to Sunday are taken into consideration.

The poll will start every Tuesday, running until Monday.

The first list is a review of last week, including Fabio Di Bella (Fabi Shoes Montegranaro), Milan Macvan (Partizan Belgrade), Pops Mensah-Bonsu (Besiktas Milangaz), Dirk Nowitzki (Dallas Mavericks) and Tony Parker (San Antonio Spurs).

Di Bella finished with 26 points and an efficiency ranking of 31 in Monegranaro's 94-83 victory over NovipiĆ¹ Casale Monferrato, while Macvan was the MVP of round 26 in the Adriatic League. The Serbian international scored 18 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to help Partizan win 84-69 against arch rivals Red Star Belgrade.

Mensah-Bonsu led Besiktas to the EuroChallenge Final Four, being a dominant force in both games of the Quarter-Final Play-Offs against Artland Dragons. After having a double-double of 22 points and ten rebounds in the first game, he shined in the second leg with 25 points, 17 rebounds and an efficiency rating of 39, earning him Quarter-Final Play-Offs Game 2 MVP honours.

Nowitzki averaged 27 points a game last week, leading the Dallas Mavericks to three wins in a row. San Antonio's Parker had a fantastic week of his own, averaging 25 points and 9.25 assists over four games, including a stunning 32 points and 12 assists performance against Orlando.

With the weekly voting, FIBA Europe aims to keep an eye on established players as well as hidden talent stepping onto the scene.

Fans are given a platform to discuss the top performances and players they think are worth mentioning, not only because of their statistics, but also because of their impact to their respective teams.

So become a fan of FIBA Europe on Facebook and join the discussion!
