|Gunta Basko-Melnbarde and Lattes Montpellier remain unbeaten after a superb win over Rivas|
Lattes Montpellier are yet to taste defeat after squeezing out a 58-53 EuroLeague Women Group B victory against the previously unbeaten Rivas Ecopolis.
In an intriguing game, the French team scored eight of the last nine points to wrestle back the initiative in crunch time just as it looked like they may have thrown the win away.
When Ingrid Tanqueray converted from the perimeter to hand BLMA a 44-35 lead heading into the last quarter, it looked like a long way back for Rivas, who had initially held a double-digit lead in the first-half.
But, the visitors came alive and threatened to tear up the script for home fans.
Despite being without the injured Frida Eldebrink again, they racked up a spellbinding 17-4 run to move 52-50 ahead and were on the verge of going a superb 4-0 for the season.
However, Fatimatou Sacko and Gaelle Skrela intervened and combined for six points in a row for BLMA during the last two minutes, which shifted the momentum irreversibly as Rivas dried up.
Shameka Christon top scored with 15 points and ultimately iced the game from the free-throw line for BLMA with a handful of seconds left on the game-clock.
Rachel Allison was one rebound short of a double-double for Rivas having scored 13 points.
