|Coach Pierre Vincent will stay in charge of France at their home EuroBasket Women in June and beyond|
The French Federation has announced that Pierre Vincent will remain at the helm of the women's national team and coach at least one more year.
Vincent will attempt to steer the team to a third straight podium finish at a EuroBasket Women and this time on home soil.
Les Bleues captured the gold when the tournament was held in Latvia in 2009 and then bronze last year in Poland.
Vincent and the French women kept the momentum going for next year's big event by capturing a silver medal at the London Games in August.
"The priority determined by the FFBB is to prepare the two teams of France to take part in the Olympic Games in Rio in 2016," said Jean-Pierre Siutat, the FFBB president.
Vincent Collet is also to remain at the helm of the men's team, the French Basketball Federation says.
"Vincent and Pierre have an excellent track record with their respective teams," Siutat said.
"They both have the confidence of their federation, their national technical directors, of the players.
"It is logical that they remain at the head of the two national teams and they prepare for the milestones of 2013 but also 2016."
The decision means that both Collet (Strasbourg) and Vincent (ASVEL) will be very busy in the coming year as each are club coaches in the French men's league.
