Belgium will play at a EuroBasket for the second time in a row after rolling to an 82-46 win at Albania on Tuesday night.

Eddy Casteels' team travelled to Tirana looking for a victory that would make them one of the four best third-place teams in the six groups and they got it, with 25-year-old power forward Maxime De Zeeuw's 20 points and 10 rebounds leading the way.

The Belgians finished behind Group E winners Poland, and Finland, with a 5-3 record.

Belgium had won their first meeting with Albania, 97-59, back on 27 August.

The visitors went on a 12-0 run bridging the first and second quarters to seize a 29-11 lead 13 minutes into the game.

Casteels' team never allowed the Albanians to get a whiff of a comeback.

With three minutes left in the third quarter, Belgium's lead was 27 points.

The visitors then put an exclamation mark on their victory by outscoring the home side 19-5 over the last 10 minutes.

The defeat capped a disappointing Qualification Round for Albania, who failed to win a single game and suffered heavy defeats in most of them.

Belgium had a fast start with wins over Poland and Switzerland but then lost three of four games to put their place in Slovenia in jeopardy.

Their key victory was on Saturday when Belgium won at home over Finland, 71-68.

It all adds up to another Belgian appearance at the EuroBasket.
