The last day of Preliminary Round action was played in the Olympic women's basketball tournament on Sunday and France cemented their status as one of the best teams with a 65-54 victory over Russia.
Other European sides were in action, with the Czech Republic beating Angola, 82-47, Turkey downing Croatia, 70-65, and Great Britain falling to Brazil, 78-66.

No player has been receiving as much credit for France in London as point guard Celine Dumerc, who hit a three-pointer at the death in overtime to beat Great Britain on Friday.
She had 12 points to lead France against the Russians.
Russia's point guard Becky Hammon was full of praise for the Bourges playmaker.
"She is having a good tournament," Hammon said.
"It's as good as I have seen her play.
"She is playing with a lot of confidence ... feeling good about herself right now."
France are deep, and talented, and could pose a real threat to USA hegemony.
"With her and Edwige (Lawson-Wade), they have a very smart, good team," Hammon said.
France finished top of Group B and Russia came in third behind Australia, who edged fourth-place Canada later in the day.
Great Britain and Brazil, both without a chance of advancing with four defeats in their first four games, played the last game of the night.
Natalie Stafford had 15 points in defeat for the Brits.
In Group A, Turkey finished second behind Team USA.
They won for the fourth time in five tries at the Olympics with a five-point victory over Croatia.
The Czech Republic defeated Angola to finish fourth in Group A.
The Czechs will face France in the Quarter-Finals on Tuesday, while Russia and Turkey meet in the second All European Quarter-Final.
