EuroBasket Women AQT

Olena Zherzherunova signed off from international duty this summer for Ukraine with a bang in firing them to victory over Finland.

The veteran center poured in 22 points and corralled 11 rebounds as the Ukrainians prevailed on the last day of Group A action in the EuroBasket Women Additional Qualifying Tournament, 82-76.

Participants in the last EuroBasket that was staged in Latvia two years ago, Ukraine had high hopes of making it back this year with the Final Round being staged in Poland later this month.

The win against the Finns, however, proved to be their lone success in fourth AQT games.

Finland got 28 points, 11 rebounds and three steals from Taru Tuukkanen.

They also finished 1-3 in Group A.
