|Impressed in camp but did not make the final cut: Vytenis Cizauskas|
The last two players to be cut from the squad that will represent Lithuania at EuroBasket 2013 are both guards, as head coach Jonas Kazlauskas has opted for a line-up well-stocked on forwards and big men.
Kazlauskas has announced that neither the 24-year-old Adas Juskevicius nor the 21-year-old Vytenis Cizauskas will make their debut with the senior national team in a major tournament at September's EuroBaske in Slovenia.
The Lithuanian tactician made public the decision following his team's comfortable 94-73 victory over EuroBasket Group B rivals Bosnia and Herzegovina, in their third and final warm-up game during the Acropolis tournament, in Athens.
"Both of them are young players and I hope that the time they spent this summer in preparations will be very useful to them," commented Kazlauskas.
"They didn't make the team this time around but they will get their chance again next year and they will be more experienced and improved."
While Cizauskas is released from training camp with immediate effect, Juskevicius will stay with the team until their final warm-up game, at home on Sunday against Georgia.
"We still have a few practice session and the game with Georgia before we travel to Slovenia, so who knows what can happen," Kazlauskas explained.
"If, God forbid, we have an injury to a player, Adas could step in."
Following the last two cuts, Lithuania will take two point guards to Slovenia and no less than five players who are either pure centers or can play at the '5' spot, while two of their small forwards occasionally play at the '4' position.
Lithuania's Final EuroBasket 2013 Roster: Tomas Delininkaitis, Robertas Javtokas, Mantas Kalnietis, Linas Kleiza, Mindaugas Kuzminskas, Darjus Lavrinovic, Ksistof Lavrinovic, Jonas Maciulis, Donatas Motiejunas, Martynas Pocius, Renaldas Seibutis and Jonas Valanciunas.
