|Too hot to handle for Galatasaray: Avenida's Eshaya Murphy|
On a EuroLeague Women night when revenge was the main theme, Perfumerias Avenida grabbed their own sweet slice by completing a fantastic 68-48 win against high-flying Galatasaray odeabank.
Fresh from their Turkish Cup success against Fenerbahce, the visitors were left stunned as Eshaya Murphy torched her former club with a near double-double of 23 points and nine rebounds, to carry Avenida to an eye-opening Group C success.
Without the sickness-stricken Alba Torrens to pitch into battle on her former home-court, Galatasaray couldn't match the impressive intensity and defence of Avenida who produced a monstrous rebounding display.
That proved to be the main building block for victory, despite a slow start which witnessed Avenida fall 22-15 behind.
An 18-8 second period restored the confidence of the Spaniards and by doing an excellent job in containing the dangerous Shavonte Zellous, they were able to continue slowing Galatasaray down offensively.
A spectacular 17-4 run across the third and fourth quarter break effectively sealed the deal for Avenida, who are yet to taste defeat at Pabellon Wurzburg.
It also avenged their 81-56 loss in Istanbul on the first night of the season.
Isil Alben top-scored for Galatasaray with 14 points and also added six rebounds and three assists.
