Lithuania overcame a battling China on Tuesday night to continue their magical run at the FIBA World Championship in Istanbul.

One year after their excruciating, one-win campaign at the EuroBasket in Poland, Lithuania beat the Chinese 78-67 for a sixth consecutive win.

Linas Kleiza erupted for 30 points and finished a rebound shy of a double-double for the winners.

They will now play Argentina in the Quarter-Finals after Sergio Hernandez's team beat Brazil in a 93-89 thriller in Tuesday's second game.

Europe now has six sides in the Quarter-Finals, with the continent assured of having at least one team in the Final.

Serbia, Spain, Slovenia, Turkey and Russia have also booked their last-eight places.

China went into the Eight-Final against Lithuania with just a single victory in Group C but led for much of the first half and were still knotted at 48-48 early in the third quarter when two Kleiza baskets sparked an 11-0 run.

The Chinese, who are now led by American Bob Donewald, never gave up and closed the gap to 67-62 with 5:04 left in the contest.

Kleiza answered with two straight baskets and Lithuania pulled away for an 11-point win.

Lithuania's Kestutis Kemzura, who replaced Ramunas Butautas at the helm of the Baltic giants, said: "At this stage, there are no easy games.

"It doesn't matter the score or the difference in the score.

"China played great, and they made it very difficult for us. What we wanted to do, they did to us: they jumped on us.

"I thought some of our players felt tense. It is the first time they have played at such a level.

"Our leader, Linas Kleiza, played just a great game. He was a big, big factor."
