|Lorela Cubaj is Italy low-post presence|
Turning Point: In a rollercoaster match, Italy finally made the decisive burst when Elisa Pinzan nailed two three-pointers, sandwiching Lorela Cubaj's short jumper in an 8-0 run which broke a tie with four minutes remaining. Mina Djordjevic tried to bring Serbia back with consecutive buckets, but Martina Fassina replied for Italy, and Anna Togliani held her nerve at the line to secure the win.
Game Heroes: Pinzan was the only player to finish in double figures, hitting three of her five attempts from behind the arc to end with 12 points. Fassina had six points and four steals, and Chiara Bacchini added four points and nine rebounds.
Stats Don't Lie: In a tight encounter, Italy's greater accuracy from long distance paid dividends. Serbia had more attempts from downtown, but Italy hit twice as many as their opponents.
The Bottom Line: Italy will finish the tournament with the classification game for 9th to 10th place against Croatia. If Serbia repeat their earlier success over Slovakia when the teams meet again on Sunday, they will finish in 11th place overall.
