Team captain Snezana Colic was the top scorer for Serbia with 24 points
Serbia booked their place in the Second Round of the U20 European Championship Women in Debrecen with a 71-59 success against Great Britain who must now win their last game to keep their hopes alive in Group D.
Snezana Colic harvested a team-high 24 points for the jubilant Serbians although a pivotal double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds by center Ivana Brajkovic made the difference - as did yet another late flourish.
Following on from their overtime success against the Slovak Republic, Serbia left it late once again, finally seeing off a pesky Great Britain with a 13-4 run at the end of the game.
Just as they had done in their opening game against Russia, the British fell behind early but worked their way back into the contest.
This time, they managed to get a real creditable glance of the finishing line after levelling the scores at 50-50 early in the last quarter.
But, once again, they just didn't have enough offensive firepower to get the job done or to force a nail-biting finale as Serbia eased away.
Jessica Hurd did however produce a superb effort to finish with 25 points for the losing team and just missed out on a deserved double-double by one rebound.
Great Britain now face the Slovak Republic knowing a loss would resign them to the relegation round but a win would keep them in the race for a spot in the second phase of the competition.
