Our regular roundup of roster news and results from preparatory games as the build-up to the EuroBasket Women 2015 2nd Qualification Round continues.
SWEDEN TRIM TRIO
Swedish national team boss Lars Johansson has culled three members from his preliminary list after opting not to pursue with Jennifer Stjarnstrom, Ulrica Holmqvist or Martina Staalvant. With Elin Eldebrink returning from injury and Amanda Zahui having arrived from her successful season in the NCAA, this now leaves the squad with 15 players and therefore three more cuts to be made prior to the first game of their qualifying campaign.

GREAT BRITAIN DROP DUO
Great Britain play-caller Peter Buckle has cut his roster down to 14 names in advance of a double-header friendly against Italy this weekend after opting to release both Jenaya Wade-Fray and Chantelle Pressley.
He explained, "De-selection is never the best part of the head coach's role. However we are lucky that the two players we have released are two quality people who will still remain part of the larger GB squad working towards our 2016 target."
"Jenaya and Chantelle will remain on our radar and I will work with them over the next 12 months so that they can continue to challenge for a position on the GB team."
A disappointed but understanding Pressley added, "This has been my first GB camp and now I am aware of the high standards and the requirements in order to succeed. I am relatively young so I do appreciate the opportunity, but I plan on working on my game over the next 12 months to come back a better GB player."
Subsequent to the cut, numbers were boosted with the arrival of Temi Fagbenle following a successful college season with Harvard University, while Dominique Allen and Rachel Vanderwal will link up next week ahead of further preparation games against Germany the following weekend.
