The Serbian play-caller has achieved the impressive feat of making the post-season during his first campaign at the helm, beating Basket Lattes Montpellier Agglomeration on the road last week to cement the club's first play-off berth in three years.
As well as handing an extension to Polenek, continuity is being sought via new deals being handed to playmaker Iva Ciglar, who obtained Hungarian citizenship last week as well as the retaining of Zsofia Licskai, Zsofia Simon and Orsolya Zsovar.
"It was of utmost importance for us to keep the Hungarian core of the team together," confirmed Managing Director, Zoltán Török.
"Although no further announcements will be made by the club until the end of the season, since the tasks lying in wait for us means full steam ahead.
"We have the final regular season EuroLeague Women match against Rivas Ecopolis, the Middle European League Final Four and the EuroLeague Women play-offs to concentrate on."
Sopron will also continue hunting down the Hungarian League title in an intense battle involving a host of EuroLeague Women and EuroCup Women competitors including arch rivals HAT-Agro Uni Gyor, Aluinvent Miskolc and PEAC Pecs.
