Lithuania and France will play it out for the U20 European Championship crown on the final day of the tournament in Stozice Arena in Ljubljana, despite starting the tournament poorly.

Both teams began the championship by losing two of their first three games and just barely scraped into the Second Round.

However, the two sides improved their game as the competition progressed, knocking out opponents with better records to make it to the final.

Lithuania reached the final destination having left no chances for Greece in the quarter-final and then edging Serbia in a thriller of a game, which ended 73-68 on Saturday.

Forward Edgaras Ulanovas leads the team in scoring with 15.6 points and is also averaging 5.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists, while playmaker Vytenis Cizauskas is collecting an average of 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4.4 assists.

The Lithuanian team leads the tournament in scoring with 78.5 points per game and also is first in assists with an average of 15.4.

France got to the final after knocking out hosts Slovenia in the quarter-final and then squeezing past Spain 66-59 in the semi-final meeting.

Leo Westermann is the key to success for France, running the team well and averaging 13.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists, center Louis Lebeyrie is collecting 10.5 points and 5.3 rebounds, while Axel Toupane scores 10.4 points per game.

The French team is the most athletic in the tournament and has a huge lead in the blocking department, ranking first with 5.1 blocked shots per game, behind Rudy Gobert's defensive effort, as the big man averages 3.6 blocks.
