Cibona Zagreb got an emotional lift from Marko Tomas, fought like lions against Zadar and won on Tuesday to force a deciding fifth game in the Croatian A1 Liga play-off finals.

Jamont Gordon, who is thriving in the big-game atmosphere of the post-season, poured in a game-high 25 points and Cibona teammate Luksa Andric added 16 as Cibona prevailed, 78-71.

Game 5 will be in Zagreb on Thursday.

Croatia national team sharpshooter Tomas was a big uncertainty for Game 4 after getting hurt in the previous contest.

But he passed a fitness test and played, scoring nine points.

There was a 9,000-strong crowd watching Game 4 in the basketball city of Zadar.

But the home fans left disappointed and must now hope Zadar can spring an upset on the road.

Andric said: "For them, there was pressure due to the packed arena.

"We did what we needed to and won.

"Now let's go to Zagreb to win."

Maroussi Clinch Third

Maroussi put paid to the Panellinios in the battle for third place in Greece's A1 Ethniki on Tuesday with a 70-60 triumph.

Having seen their 2-0 lead in the series disappear after a brilliant two performances from Panellinios, Maroussi regrouped and got an 18-point effort from William Keys to seal a 3-2 triumph in the tie.

Panellinios had already achieved their pre-season aim of doing well in Europe and finishing fourth in the top flight.

After going through qualifying, they reached the Eurocup Final Four in Vitoria but lost both games.

"Maroussi won fairly today and I want to give congratulations," Panellinios coach Ilias Zouros said.

"But I want to give many compliments to my players and my team.

"We fought this series to the end and we managed to go to a fifth game, although we were 2-0 behind and faced so many problems.

"It was a very difficult year for us and I think it's been successfully completed.

"We continued our upward course of the last two and a half years and now just want to relax and look to the future."

Maroussi's victory means they will play in the Euroleague again.

The club had an outstanding 2009-10 campaign in Europe, reaching the Top 16.
