The "National Institute of Public Health" (IVZ), together with the Slovenian Basketball Federation, has prepared a leaflet to advise EuroBasket 2013 visitors how to prevent illnesses during the event.
The leaflet contains advice and basic information for visitors of the event, meaning to prevent spreading illnesses or even epidemics and to control them, in the unlikely event they occur.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control cooperated with translating the leaflet into English.
In the build-up to EuroBasket, the IVZ is already monitoring the epidemical situation in accordance with the European Early Warning Response System.
Nuska Caks Jager, the representative of the National Institute of Public Health underlined the importance of preparing for the worst case and the responsibility of every individual to follow some simple rules.
"It is necessary for all participants of the event to respect the recommendations, which reduce the risk for people's health - from food venders to every individual participant, who needs to follow the basic rules of personal hygiene."
