Adding some glamour to the Novi Zagreb roster: Elina Babkina

WBC Novi Zagreb are bidding to revive their flagging EuroLeague Women fortunes by making a seies of roster changes, including the acquisition of Latvian star Elina Babkina and Croatian forward Ana Semren.

The 24-year-old Babkina has penned a deal for the second half of the season, meaning she will suit up for her sixth team in the competition, having previously stepped out with TTT Riga, Lotos Gdynia, Fenerbahce, Municipal Targoviste and ZVVZ USK Prague.

Babkina averaged 9.3 points per game playing for Latvia at EuroBasket Women in France during the summer.

Semren meanwhile has finally been handed a spot on the roster having initially looked like she was going to sign pre-season.

Instead, she stayed at Jolly Sibenik, where she has averaged 17.9 points and 5.9 rebounds per game in the Croatian league.

Semren missed the cut for EuroBasket Women 2013 and will make her debut in EuroLeague Women alongside former Sibenik frontcourt partner Luca Ivankovic.

The club has confirmed it is also looking to try and lure Croatian national team star Jelena Ivezic, who is no longer with Turkish club Homend Antakya. However, the player has expressed a preference to continue playing outside of her homeland.

The club has already made one roster spot available via the mutual termination of a contract with Slovenian forward Tina Trebec.

They have also revealed they are currently negotiating the release of injured Spanish center Lucila Pascua, as well as Hungarian guard Krisztina Raksanyi and Croatian shooter Monika Bosilj, who hasn't found her three-point shooting touch.

Novi Zagreb are currently bottom of EuroLeague Women Group B, having managed one win from their first six games.
