Sweden snatched a place at EuroBasket 2013 as they beat Luxembourg on the road, 85-68, in Group B of the Qualifying Round on Wednesday.
The victory, coupled with Germany's 81-68 win over Azerbaijan earlier, sent Sweden to Slovenia as the second-placed team in the group.
Knowing they needed a win before they could worry about the news from Oldenburg, Sweden took control of the game in the first half against their winless hosts, going 16-5 up on back-to-back three-pointers from Dino Pita.
Luxembourg reeled off 10 straight points to close within two late in the first quarter, but the period ended with a Christian Maraker three that made it 18-24.
Sweden then pulled clear again in the second period, and a 10-0 burst saw the lead grow to 36-20 on Erik Rush's jump-shot, and Jonas Jerebko's free throws had them 41-22 up with four minutes left in the first half.
Luxembourg chipped away at the lead in the second half, with a 9-2 run bringing it back to 57-44, but they never got closer than an 11-point gap with 7:50 left in the game, with Sweden soon after pushing it back to 78-58 on a three-point play from Jerebko.
Joakim Kjellbom led Sweden with 22 points while Jerebko had 17 and Kenny Grant 10.
Tom Schumacher had 20 points for Luxembourg, with Christopher Jones adding 19 and Pitt Koster 12.
