Turkish club Kayseri Kaski spor have strengthened their play-off bid by signing up Croatian national team guard Emanuela Salopek.

The shooter will step outside of her homeland for the first time in her career having previously played for a host of different Croatian clubs, including the likes of ZKK Montmontaza, Gospic, Jolly Sibenik, and Novi Zagreb.

Most recently she played with Tresnjevka, where she averaged 13.4 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game.

The 26-year-old has experience of a EuroLeague Women campaign having played in the competition with Gospic Croatia during the 2009-10 season.

Salopek was brought in from the cold by former national team boss Stipe Bralic for the London Olympics in 2012, having previously pulled on a Croatian national team vest at youth level some seven years earlier.

She then retained her place for EuroBasket Women last summer and averaged over 16 minutes per game on French soil.

Salopek brings an added defensive presence to Kayseri and also a perimeter threat, as the Group A side continue their bid to reach the EuroLeague Women Final Eight in their debut season.

Kayseri are currently fifth in Group A, although have the same 4-4 record as Tango Bourges and Good Angels Kosice with just two regular season games left to play.
