Two-time defending champions Spain made sure they enter the quarter-final stage from top of Group E, after a dominating 71-46 win over Serbia at the U20 European Championship Women on Tuesday night.

In the quarter-finals, Spain will play the winner of Wednesday's Group F clash between Russia and Sweden.

Yurena Diaz scored all of her 13 points in a 17-0 run that put Spain in control as early as the midway point of the first quarter.

Spain's defence proved to be too much for the Serbs, as it led to many fastbreak points and a huge 44-17 halftime lead.

The Spanish advantage soon surpassed 30 points in the third quarter, and there was no coming back for Serbia.

Spain forced 19 turnovers - 17 of which came in the first three quarters - ultimately resulting in 16 easy points.

In addition to Diaz, double-digit scorers for Spain were Inmaculada Zanoguera with a 14-point, seven-rebound double-double, and Paula Estebas with 10.

Aleksandra Stanacev and Jelena Stankovic scored eight apiece for Serbia.
