Justin Holiday came up big for Szolnoki Olaj with 22 points
A fourth-quarter rally from Cholet Basket fell just short as Szolnoki Olaj claimed a 74-67 victory in their final Group J game of the EuroChallenge.
Szolnoki led by 17 when the fourth quarter started but saw that evaporate all the way down to five when Eric Chatfield nailed a three-pointer with 61 seconds left.
But with the game within reach, Cholet made some costly misses as Szolnoki escaped with the win.
Justin Holiday poured in 22 points for Szolnoki while David Vojvoda added 12 and Strahinja Milosevic 11.
The hosts took the lead right out of the gate but did not find any breathing space until late in the second quarter when Holiday's three was followed by a lay-up from Balazs Simon to make it 41-32 at half-time.
Sparked by another Holiday three early in the third period, they rolled off nine in a row, taking the lead to 50-34 and leaving Cholet's evening appearing to be over.
Their fortunes had not improved by the time Marton Bader ended the period with a dunk that put Szolnoki up 60-43.
Chatfield signalled a change in momentum with a three-pointer to start the fourth quarter, and Steeve Ho You Fat's dunk then highlighted an 8-0 burst that made it 62-56 with 4:25 left to play.
Holiday then eased Szolnoki nerves with a three-pointer, and when he made a jump-shot with 3:03 to go, their lead was back to 69-56.
Cholet were not quite done as Chatfield hit back-to-back threes to get it back to seven, and when Chatfield hit from deep with 61 seconds left it was 72-67.
Simon turned the ball over to keep the door open for the visitors, but Chatfield and Rudy Jomby both missed with attempted threes, and Miljan Rakic killed them off with two free throws.
Chatfield finished with 14 points for Cholet, with Ho You Fat adding 11.
