One of the best players in European hoops for the past decade has returned to Brno to play for coach Jan Bobrovsky.
Now competing as BK Imos Brno in the Czech top flight and the EuroLeague Women, the club has signed Hana Horáková, the FIBA Europe Women's Player of the Year for 2010.
Horáková captured a EuroBasket Women title with the Czechs in 2005 and in 2006 was crowned a EuroLeague Women winner with Brno.
In 2010, Horáková led the Czechs to a silver medal at the World Championship on home soil.
According to idnes.cz, Horáková, who turns 33 on 11 September, has signed a two-year contract to play for Brno, the club whose books she was on for 11 years before signing for Fenerbahce for the 2010-11 campaign.
Last season she played for UMMC Ekaterinburg and after a loan spell to Good Angels Kosice moved back to Ekaterinburg and represented the outfit at the EuroLeague Women Final.
"After two years away, I wanted to finally come home again," she said.
Brno were in dire need of experienced players last season when they barely caused a ripple in the EuroLeague Women, winning just once in 14 games.
Club president Michal Chládek said: "With Horáková, we expect the continued stabilization of the club.
"Hana Horáková is considered a phenomenal Czech basketball player and an extremely intelligent personality.
"We expect her to help the young players and to move us away from where we were last year."
Brno's first away game is on 25 October at Uni Györ.
