Iagupova's 41 Points Not Enough For Ukraine Against France

France defense didn't work against Alina Iagupova, but it worked against Ukraine. Iagupova scored 41 and added 11 rebounds and four assists against France, but Ukraine suffered bitter a defeat 61-62 in the two sides' opening game at the U18 European Championship Women 2010 in Spisska Nova Ves, Slovakia.

Iagupova had a superb performance but the rest of the Ukraine team combined for a mere 20 points.

Katerina Demchenko could hit the game wining jumper at the final buzzer, but she missed and Ukaine fell short.

France finished the game with only one turnover and were led by Florine Basque who scored 17 points.
