Azovmash Mariupol have acquired Miroslav Beric because of his vast experience in the game.
The 32-year-old who hails from Serbia and Montenegro won two EuroBaskets and one FIBA World Championship with the Yugoslavian national team.
Beric has also turned out for club sides like Zalgiris Kaunas, Scavolini Pesaro, Partizan Belgrade and Tau Ceramica.
He should strengthen Azovmash at either shooting guard or small forward, despite having not played for a year.
"We've got very a mature player," said Azovmash coach Rimas Girskis.
"Miroslav is good as a shooter as well as a leader. However, right now he lacks time on the court."
Beric's first appearance for Azovmash was against BC Kyiv at the weekend, a game his new team won 87-64.
He then helped his new team defeat CSU Asesoft 77-69 in the EuroCup to seal a place in Round II.
