Polina Fedorova made an inspiring 21 points and 11 boards for Russia

Russia will compete for fifth place at the U18 European Championship Women in Vukovar after wiping the floor with Turkey 63-41, off the back of a spectacular second half performance and 21 points from Polina Fedorova.

The forward also finished her stellar work by hauling down 11 rebounds to complete an excellent double-double, as Turkey completely imploded after the break.

Turkey had enjoyed the first-half, managing to get the better of the first twenty minutes to take a 27-22 lead, with center Basak Altunbey particularly impressive.

However, they completely lost concentration during a stoppage in play at the start of the second half and Russia took full advantage.

They outscored their opponents by a massive 41-14 scoreline across the second-half, as Turkey went 1-for-16 from three-point range and failed to cope with the added rebounding presence of the Russians.

Yana Degtyarskaya recorded a nice cameo with 11 points but there were slim pickings for Turkey, outside of a fantastic 17 points and nine rebounds by Altunbey.
