Rivas Youngster Pulls Out Of Worlds

31 August 2010

The future of Laura Herrera is very, very bright.

The 21-year-old, however, will have to wait before playing at a FIBA World Championship with Spain.

Herrera, who has signed to play at Rivas Ecopolis, has pulled out of the Spain squad with a muscular injury in her right thigh.

She got hurt during the last training session on Thursday.

After undergoing tests that confirmed the injury, Herrera has been told that she needs to rest for three weeks before beginning a recovery period.

Herrera said: "I'm struggling with the blow because I've been preparing for this moment the whole summer and the fact that just now I get this injury is a huge blow."

Herrera will play for Rivas this year in the EuroLeague Women.
