|Csaba Ferencz scored a personal career-best 25 points for Kormend|
BC Kyiv surrendered an 18-point second-half lead before going down 103-99 to Kormend in overtime in a Group D thriller in the EuroChallenge.
Zarko Rakocevic and Csaba Ferencz scored 25 points each with Devon Moore adding 21 for Kormend, who came up with the clutch free throws when it mattered after staging a stunning fourth-quarter comeback.
The opening quarter of an hour was close, but Kyiv made their move before half-time as they scored 14 unanswered points to go 41-31 up on Vladyslav Kondratyev's lay-up.
They continued to pull away after the break, leading 52-37 on Lee Humphrey's lay-up and then 68-50 when Thomas Mitchell sank a pair of free throws.
But Kormend heads never dropped and they kept scrapping before staging a dramatic fightback in the closing stages of regulation.
A three-pointer from Ferencz made it 82-79 and although Humphrey padded Kyiv's lead from the line, Rakocevic made it a two-point game with 14 seconds left.
Ruslan Otverchenko could only split a pair for Kyiv, and after Bela Sonyak sank two at the other end, Mitchell was also guilty of a costly miss from the line which allowed Moore to force overtime with a lay-up with three ticks left.
Overtime tipped Kormend's way when Moore drew a foul to complete a three-point play from the line, swiftly followed by a Peter Grebenar hook shot to put them 95-91 up.
Free throws saw them edge into a 99-93 lead with 31 seconds left, and although Kyiv scored two quick baskets to cut the deficit to two on Vyacheslav Bobrov's dunk, Rolland Torok sank a pair from the line to push Kormend into triple figures, and a lead Kyiv could not catch.
Humphrey led Kyiv with 26 points, while Bobrov had 17.
