|Nicolai Iversen led Denmark with 17 points|
Denmark completed the double over winless Luxembourg with an 87-58 home win in the EuroBasket 2015 1st Qualification Round on Friday.
The destination of Group C's one semi-final spot had already been decided but Denmark finished their unsuccessful campaign with a win, following up their 73-62 success in Luxembourg with a routine victory in the reverse fixture.
With pride at stake, the game started in competitive fashion as the lead changed hands six times and there were four ties in the first eight minutes.
But when Adama Darbo hit two free throws to give the hosts a 14-13 lead before Frederik Nielsen nailed a three soon after, Denmark seized the initiative.
The Danes further asserted their control with a 10-0 second-quarter run sparked by Alexander Bak's three-pointer.
This had the lead up to 43-21 at the half and when another 10-0 run followed, this time kicked off by a Jonas Bergstedt drive and lay-up, Luxembourg's hopes of a first win were all but extinguished.
The visitors continued to fight in the final stanza, Samy Picard pouring in seven of his team-high 15 points as they outscored their hosts 26-25, but it was not to be enough.
Center Nicolai Iversen led Denmark with 17 points as the Danes took third place in Group C behind Austria in second and Switzerland, who finished first to advance to the semi-finals.
