Montenegro have announced they have accepted the resignation of national team boss Dejan Radonjic.

A side that had hoped to challenge for Group C supremacy at the EuroBasket and advance to the Second Round, the Montenegrins managed only a single win in Lithuania.

They exited the competition with four straight defeats, including a 71-65 setback to Finland in their final game.

Radonjic had been an assistant coach to Dusko Vujosevic as Montenegro won promotion from Division B and then clinched a spot in the EuroBasket for the first time.

Vujosevic relinquished during the last club season when he was coaching CSKA Moscow and the Russian team was struggling, and Radonjic was put in charge.

After the loss to Finland, Radonjic admitted the team had underachieved.

"We have so many players on our roster who all play in strong leagues," he said.

"That should have made it possible for us to meet our own expectations."

The Montenegro Basketball Federation have also announced that Miodrag Kadija, the coach of the U18 Men national team, has resigned.

Kadija steered the country to a fourth-place finish at the U18 European Championship Division B.
