FIBA Europe has confirmed, Monday, the withdrawal of Elitzur Ramla for the remainder of EuroCup Women 2012/2013.
Due to unforeseen financial difficulties, the 2011 EuroCup Women winners from Israel requested to be withdrawn from the tournament after the completion of two rounds.
The Israeli Basketball Federation have been unable to confirm Ramla's participation also in the National League, which is scheduled to start this week.
The team's withdrawal from the EuroCup means that Elitzur Ramla's home game against Group H rivals Vilnius Kibirkstis on Thursday will not go ahead.
The remaining three teams in the round-robin Group H will play the rest of their games as per original schedule. Details regarding further sanctions as a consequence of the withdrawal will be released by FIBA Europe in due course.
