Belarus defeated Slovak Republic 56-47 in their last game of Group E at the U20 European Championship Women leaving both teams now await the outcome of later games to determine if they will play in the quarter-finals.
With neither team managing to pull away in the first half and scores tied at 30 going into the locker room, Belarus opened the third quarter with a 7-0 run, to take the lead for good.
With baskets from Darya Lipinskaya and Maryia Papova, they extended their advantage to 46-36 early in the fourth quarter and held on for victory.
In this game, Belarus had a 58-42 rebounding advantage, overcoming 18 turnovers compared to 12 of Slovakia.
Papova had 20 points and 11 rebounds in victory, Lipinskaya finished with 14 points while Maryna Ivashchanka controlled the paint with 14 rebounds along with her four points.
Zofia Hruscáková had 16 points and eight rebounds in defeat.
