|Isil Alben will be pulling the strings for EuroLeague Women newcomers Kursk next season|
Despite their best efforts, Galatasaray odeabank have been unable to hang onto their star playmaker Isil Alben who will suit up for EuroLeague Women newcomers Dynamo Kursk next season.
The on-off transfer saga of the Turkish national team guard is finally over after Galatasary confirmed they had given up on trying to retain her services.
Alben played a pivotal role in carrying the Turkish juggernaut to a historic maiden EuroLeague Women title last season with a string of exceptional displays at the Final Eight in Ekaterinburg.
Now she will follow former team-mate Alba Torrens to the Russian Premier League for 2014-15, ending a run of seven seasons with the Istanbul giants in what will also be her first season playing outside of her homeland.
Alben averaged 6.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game last season and will join fellow new arrivals Nneka Ogwumike and Liudmila Sapova in Kursk.
The ambitious Russian club have also re-upped Seimone Augustus, Jelena Milovanovic and Epiphanny Prince as they prepare to make the step up from EuroCup Women next season.
