|Vasileios Charalampopoulos was the top-scorer for Greece in the opninig win over Poland|
Greece have eased out to an 75-63 win over Poland in the opening game of Group D action at the U16 European Championship Men in Panevezys, Lithuania.
After Poland opened scoring through a pair of free throws from Kamil Zywert, Manos Manouselis' men dutifully replied; going on a 19-9 scoring run to develop a lead that never truly looked threatened for the remainder of the night.
Greece dominated inside the paint, picking up over half their points under the hoop, whilst at the other end of the court Poland struggled to convert from anywhere on the court, going at just 22-for-65 from the field.
Vasileios Charalampopoulos lead Greece with 17 points and eight rebounds whilst Dimitrios Stamatis chipped in with 15.
Kamil Zywert and Artur Wlodarczyk both finished with 15 points for the Polish.
Tomorrow Poland will be looking to reverse their fortunes when they take on France whilst Greece take on the Czech Republic in the final game of day two action.
