Germany have confirmed their place in the second round, going two-for-two with a 69-50 win over Slovenia to begin day two action at the Dadu U16 European Championship Men.

Taking advantage of seven trips to the charity stripe in the opening quarter, coupled with some swift transitional play, Germany were doing it easy at the half with a 19-point lead.

Slovenia were more efficient in slowing Germany's guards in the second half to keep Harald Stein's team in check.

But with Jan Wimberg recording his second double-double in as many days, Germany were able to hold on and register their place in round two.

Wimberg finished the game as the only German player in double figures with 18 points and 11 rebounds.

Grega Sajevic picked up 16 points for the Slovenians.

Germany meet hosts Lithuania in their final Group C game on Saturday whilst Slovenia take on Serbia.
