Seminar To Feature Presentation On Lithuanian Youth Success

06 February 2009

FIBA Europe will hold its second seminar for national federations, in Freising, Germany, on Saturday, 21st February 2009.

The seminar, which is organized in conjunction with the meeting of the Secretary Generals, will be attended by most of FIBA Europe's member federations. The event will include presentations, workshops and open discussions on various subjects.

The National Federation of Lithuania will share their experience in developing young players and the systems and pathways that provide their young talent with the opportunity to perform at the highest level possible.

Proffessor Bjarne Ibsen from Denmark will inform the participants of the best methods to attract and motivate volunteers to get involved actively in basketball and Jakub Kalinowski from Poland will provide expertise in identifying suitable projects and applying for EU project funding.

Wolfram Klug from FIBA will demonstrate new tools in information technology aiming to assist the national federations in their daily operations and communication with basketball fans.

As in the first seminar in Limmassol, Cyprus all participants will be provided with the opportunity to express their opinions and make recommendations for future events by completing a feedback form which will be included in their delegate pack.

"This is a fantastic way to promote the positive ideas and experiences within our sport. There is a lot of expertise across the European national federations and we are keen to create opportunities for our members to share it between themselves. Basketball in Europe can only benefit from that," said FIBA Europe Secretary General Nar Zanolin.
