Nikola Mirotic – Spain and Real Madrid

Nikola Mirotic made good use of the court time he was given in Madrid and consequently was awarded with the rising star trophy of the Euroleague after appearing in the Final Four. In other countries, the soft-shooting power forward would have been a lock on the senior national team, but on a star-laden Spain roster, there was no space and the youngster had to settle for the U20 European Championship. He dominated the competition in every possible way, winning the gold medal and the MVP award.
