It was with great sadness that FIBA Europe learned of the passing away of former FIBA Administrative Secretary Ursula Frank at the age of 84.
Frank was the first Administrative Secretary of the international federation, holding the position up until to her retirement.
In 1956, the FIBA headquarters moved to Munich, with Frank assisting Secretary General R. William Jones in conducting the affairs of the federation.
Frank's life was dedicated to her work and the game of basketball.
In July 1994, Frank was among the first recipients of the FIBA Order of Merit, an award presented for significant individual contributions to the sport of basketball.
Frank is also on the candidate list for the FIBA Hall of Fame.
