Delegations from EuroLeague Women clubs and representatives of women's leagues from throughout Europe met with FIBA Europe in Ekaterinburg on Thursday to discuss the 2014/15 EuroLeague Women season.
Amongst the discussion topics was the new competition format and the shortened season due to the 2014 FIBA World Championship for Women and EuroBasket Women 2015.
Additionally, some clubs were invited to give presentations on the structures of their own clubs and the programmes they run within that structure.
"I was very pleased with the constructive nature of the meeting," enthused FIBA Europe Secretary General Kamil Novak following the discussions.
"It was great to see that representatives from clubs not playing in the EuroLeague Women Final Eight, as well as delegations from various women's domestic competitions travelled to Ekaterinburg especially for the meeting."
"The discussion remained open with a number of key issues touched upon."
The basketball will resume on Friday in Ekaterinburg when the EuroLeague Women Final Eight enters its semi-final stage.
