FIBA Europe, EHF Extend Cooperation

The European Handball Federation (EHF) is currently celebrating its 20th birthday and, as part of the celebrations, organised a workshop about "Game Management, Future Challenges" on the weekend.

FIBA Europe Head of Operations Miguel Betancor was at hand in Vienna to participate in the workshop.

The focus from FIBA Europe's side was on cooperation as part of the FIBA Europe Universitas Programme as well as technological cooperation between the EHF and the FIBA Europe Techno Centre.

Topics discussed during the workshop were, among others, game management off and on court, especially in terms of the relationship between coaches and referees, commissioners, observers and instructors.

New technologies and their integration into the sport of handball were also one of the points of discussion.

With the Techno Centre, FIBA Europe are a leading sports organisation when it comes to the invention and improvement of such technologies and thus the application of such technologies, their advantages and their influence on education, formation and problem resolution were discussed by the participants of the workshop.

FIBA Europe President Olafur Rafnsson and FIBA Europe Secretary General Nar Zanolin were also present at the workshop.
