European Championship 2007 Site Visits Complete

FIBA Europe’s Bid Evaluation Commission has completed its visits of the 3 countries bidding to host the 2007 European Championship for Men.

The 3 candidates are Lithuania, Poland and Spain.

The Commission consists of the FIBA Europe Sports Director, Security Advisor and experts in the field of television and marketing.

The report of the Commission will be presented to the Board of FIBA Europe at its meeting on 26th – 28th November 2004 in Tallinn, Estonia. The Board will also hear presentations from each of the bidding countries, following which it will vote to decide the organiser.

The vote will take place on 28th November.

European Championship for Women 2007

The Board of FIBA Europe will also be faced with the task of selecting the organiser for the 2007 European Championship for Women.

The 2 candidates are Italy and Russia. The Commission has already completed its visit to Italy and will go to Russia in October 2004.
