4 Countries Express Interest in Hosting 2007 European Championship

Following the decision of the Board of FIBA Europe to open the bidding process for the 2007 European Championship for Men, the National Basketball Federations of Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Spain have all informed FIBA Europe of their interest in hosting the event.

All four countries will receive a bid manual from FIBA Europe detailing all the conditions under which the Championship must take place and will have until 30th April 2004 to submit a formal candidature.

All official candidates will be visited by the FIBA Europe Evaluation Commission in May and June 2004. The Commission will make a report to the Board of FIBA Europe at its meeting in Tallinn, Estonia on 12th November 2004. Each candidate will also be invited to make a presentation at this meeting.

Following the report from the Commission and presentations, the Board of FIBA Europe will decide on which candidate will be awarded the 2007 European Championship for Men.
