The Year of Women’s Basketball was introduced last week in Austria through promotional games celebrating the FIBA Europe initiative which aims to increase female participation among all levels of players.

Dr. Ursula Plassnig, Austria’s Foreign Minister, was among those in attendance for the promotional games.

A youth game and a senior level contest between All-Star teams from Vienna and Lower Austria took place.

Promotional activities in Austria for the Year of Women’s Basketball will take place later this month when the Bundesliga opens play.
