Fresh off their 3-0 record in EuroBasket Women Division B Qualifying
games, the Dutch women's basketball team sported Year of Women's
Basketball shirts as part of a photo shoot to promote the project.

The players will be wearing the Year of Women's basketball shirts
off-the court prior to each of their second leg qualifying games next
year.

The Netherlands Basketball Federation is also working to promote the
Year of Women's Basketball, which was introduced this past March with
the goal of raising the profile of the women's game. The Year of
Women's Basketball logo was displayed prominently during television
broadcasts of last years playoffs and during local basketball events.

On October 14th, the federation will host the 2006-2007 season opener
with all teams from the Dutch League taking part. The theme of the
event will be the Year of Women's Basketball.

In addition, the Dutch Federation has started the formation of a
working group to promote women's basketball.
